Facing A Tough Career Decision? Here’s How To Make The Right Choice
I selected this week’s article based on two amazing conversations I had this week. The first involved a client who had taken a job that was thankless, stressful and simply not suitable given her stage of life. The most impactful part of our work together was reviewing her pension options and determining that she could retire at her earliest unreduced retirement date and give herself the permission to develop a private practice in elder care. I can speak from personal experience that her skills are very much in demand as our population ages.
The second conversation was with a client who had an undiagnosed illness that left her disabled for nearly 10 years. She only recently found an appropriate medical intervention. Through our work, she found the disability supports she needed to take a step back, identify the most impactful ways she can spend her money and enable her to heal and re-establish her professional life.
The common thread between these two conversations, and the article that follows, is that a financial plan helps you pause, reassess your current state of affairs and might even enable you to imagine a better path forward.
